'Oh I wish I was a punkrocker'..or Pink Lady, or Courtney Love
Everybody celebrate, for today it is my good friend Charlie's 16th birthday!! And she is a lil angel, hence the Charlie's angels picture. Happy Birthday darlin! I hope you like ur present- if u dont i'll have it.. Congratulations 2 Emily from karate who got into SJL Sixth Form!! Well done hunni! I got my letter in the post the other day, and they actually want me in. What is the world coming to. Good luck as well to Lucy the dancing queen, who's gonna nail her dance exam today!
Annes party was a laugh, generally music +dancing +top hats= fun. There was a picture taken of me in a top hat at some point, if anyone has it please send it to me! Speaking of which, I still have no idea wat to wear for my party....! I was considering gettin dolled up in ott rock chick gear and coming as Courtney Love, or maaaybee wat about a Rocky Horror Show character? which would give me an excuse 2 get evry1 doing the time warp.. or how about some kinda 1950's Pink Lady! Such is the random absurdity of my mind that I just can't choose..
This week I've been revising all the time, but when I get pissed off with it (which is regularly) I've taken time out to..
- check out Sandi Thom- she's the gal who webcast her gigs to like thousands of people- she's kinda like a cross between KT Tunstall and Janis Joplin and I can't get her 'oh i wish i was a punkrocker' song out of my head..funky stuff.
- watch a Kinks gig on BBC 4- and im afraid to say I'm hooked. I can't believe I haven't got any of their stuff! They're awesome- lovin' Lola, Waterloo sunset and All of the day and All of the night. They've gone on my birthday list...
- watch Green Wing!!! I am a crazed fan of this show- if u havent seen it u must..its surreal, random, v funny and has been the subject of many a crack-up between me n eve.
The textiles exam went suprisingly well, I've managed to create some kind of fabric thing which will hopfully turn out to look alrite..one session down about 4 to go! Tonite am going 2 some gig down in town- that's right, town- in a vain attempt to find some form of entertainment in this middle-class ghost-town dump. It's even taking place in the salvation army hall. Rock On.
It should be a laugh tho, some local bands are playin n stuff- see how it goes in next week's edition.
Theres a brand new jukebox this week, that's fuelled with some more Fratellis genius, the only Kinks song i currently have at the moment- its mega anyway, and some other wicked tunes for you to share in my pre-summer mood. Including one of my favourite songs *of all time*: Summer of '69- the bowling for soup version's just as good as the original- enjoy!!
So good luck and congrats and happy birthday to every1!- i've gotta get back to revision. Joy.
