All That Glitters is Gold
Welcome, dear reader, to a happy sparkly birthday blog post that is bound to make you smile; so much
has happened in the past fortnight to write about, so let's start with the party. What an awesome night that was! Everyone turned up in spectacular outfits; there were Bonds and Bond girls, Grease gals, rock chicks, pirates, mexican lads, superheroes, fairies, 1920's flapper girls,
dancers, police and pimps. In the garden sparkling with colourful lights everyone drank, laughed and ate an excess of jelly beans, chupa chups and flying saucers. We sang along to fab tacky tunes and danced the night away in a tent with Grease being projected on the side... (Feast your eyes on party pix here). And the presents! Oh my god, I was so thrilled to get a Topshop shopping spree in Oxford St from so many of my amazing mates! I was
like a little girl in a sweet shop when I received some gorgeous chocolate, jewellry, make-up, flowers, money, cute bath things, bags and belts, not to mention my lace hold-up stockings from Ann Summers lol! A special thanks to Deejay and Hendy for my beautiful D&G perfume, I love it so much- also to Eve for the cute photo album which brings back so many great memories! And to Charlie for the amazing collage and handmade tiara- I wear it all the time. In fact, I'm wearing it right now. So.. even though England went out of the World Cup, everyone had a great time I hope- and I've put a few party tunes on the jukebox, so you too can have your own mini party in front of your computer wherever you are. 'Tack-tastic'.
A couple of weeks back I popped over to the South of France to see my good friend Rose (popped- how 'Harpenden' does that make me sound? God, I'm turning into my mother.....) which was such a laugh. It was great tanning next to the pool and chilling out with amazing french food and wine... and it was fun hanging out with those Spanish kids even though we didn't speak much Spanish ("mmm....bueno!"). If you're reading Rose, SO funny when we were feeding Happy meat from the table at dinner and Nada was like "What is that?!", "Umm...It's
really nice..!" lol.
So I got back on my birthday, which was awesome.. I got a wicked video iPod, as well as a couple of albums, the DVD of Chocolat, a fab pair of leopard print high heels, an amazing bag and tee from the geniuses at Heidi Seeker -what a lucky gal I am. Had a few friends over for a bbq in the evening where we drank birthday wine and champagne, watched Chocolat and ate chocolate. What more could a girl want- friends, drinks, chocolate and Jonny Depp... And the day was made even more awesome by the fact that I had my first article published in the Guardian...even though it was about 200 words...and I only did it for a joke... but it's the start of my journalistic career anyway.
This week I guess will be more parties in one week than we've had in the past year. Bring it on. (Although I've been forced at gunpoint to come into school to help out with the fucking induction day...the morning after Ann's party! That's gonna be a hangover-and-an-arf!) Then we're heading off to Scotland next week which should be awesome, AND Pirates of the Caribbean 2 is out this weekend!! I propose we head 2 the cinema dressed as pirates and wenches. Who's with me?
Love always from your broadsheet journalist friend lol,
Katie xxx
